Multiple fire departments from southwest Lapeer County responded to a large brush fire late Sunday. At least seven departments responded to the Ortonville Recreational Area near Hadley where more than 25 acres of land and trees burned out of control Sunday afternoon. The Michigan DNR fire service was also called to assist. Among those responding were departments from Dryden, Almont and Elba Township. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours, battling flames over rugged terrain.
