The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of a 22-year old Sandusky man. Deputies responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, after reeiving reports of a dirt bike striking a deer on Ridge Road, between Custer and Snover Roads in Sanilac Township. According to deputies, the man was riding a Yamaha dirt bike north on Ridge Road when he collided with the deer. The driver lost control and slid the dirt bike on its side and ejecting the driver. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation and deputieds said the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Sanilac EMS and Port Sanilac Fire/ Rescue.
