A St. Clair County Judge has sentenced former jeweler Rick Currie to two to ten years in prison. Currie, 62, had pleaded guilty in February to six counts of larceny by conversion, $20,000 or more. Currie went missing with around$300,000 worth of customers’ items in January after he was evicted from the store he leased in Port Huron. He was arrested in February near Jasper, Florida and after waiving extradition, he later pleaded guilty to the six charges. Authorities said at least 170 victims were involved. Many of the items have been identified, but items worth at least $100,000 no longer are recoverable.
