Construction work at the new hangar space at the Sandusky City Airport continues to move forward. Sandusky City Cuncil member Nort Schram, aa member of the airport board, told council members an agreement has been worked out with Scott McKechon to have the south drive of the airport, leading up to the new building paved. Schramm said the board agreed to McKechon’s offer to pay for the paving himself, in lieu of rent. He will still pay $1 per month for the new facility. The paving project is expected to cost around $13,000.
In other council news, council said plans are moving forward with the new Taco Bell west of town, on M-46. Ground breaking took place Monday and city officials said work is moving along as planned. Council also heard a report from Sandusky Community Fire Association board member Ginny Bissett that the fire department has switched over equipment from the old ladder truck to the new one and plans are to sell the old ladder truck. The new 100′ ladder truck is now in service.
