One of the runways at the Huron County Memorial Airport in Bad Axe is in line for a
roughly $1 million repaving project sometime next year. Authorities say the work involves a roughly 5,000-foot runway at the Bad Axe-Area Airport with 95 percent of the funding coming from state and federal sources including the Federal Aviation Administration. Huron County will pay the remaining 5 percent in match money. Airport officials say the repaving work could take about a month to complete. Several improvementsd have taken place at the airport including a new privately owned hangar that was built earlier this year.
