Marlette man injured in motorcycle crash

The following was released by the Sanilac County Sheriff Department:
(WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP) – On August 26, 2019 at approximately 12:40 A.M. Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call from a passerby stating she had located a downed motorcycle on M46 near Church Road in Washington Township.
A short time later the passerby located a male subject who was injured near the motorcycle.
The investigation determined that a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle operated by a 57-year old male from Marlette
was eastbound on M46.
The motorcycle ran off the road on the south side of the road. The motorcycle and its
operator struck a temporary road barricade set up near the bridge in that area and the motorcycle and its
operator continued a distance past that impact on the roadway.
The male was treated on scene and transported to McKenzie Hospital by Sanilac EMS. He was later taken by
Flight Care to Hurley Hospital in Flint for further treatment.
He was not wearing a helmet and alcohol was a
contributing factor.
The name is being withheld pending further investigation.
The Carsonville Fire Department and Sandusky Police Department assisted on scene.
