Sandusky Police Chief Brett Lester presented his monthly report to city council members Monday evening, reporting over 260 calls for assistance in the month of October.
Chief Lester said the nearly 2,800 calls for assistance this year is on pace to exceed last year’s 3,300. The department had 23 arrests in October, the most this year, and has made 150 arrests for the year.
The department made 74 traffic stops, issued 56 verbal warnings and investigated 16 possible blight complaints.
For the year, Sandusky officers have made over 625 traffic stops, made more than 500 verbal warnings and responded to 61 calls for assistance outside of the city limits.
