(SANDUSKY) – While the new sidewalk project along Sanilac Ave. west of Sandusky that stretches from Maple Valley Street to Walmart has been completed, another new sidewalk project is on the drawing board in Sandusky.
A total new build is planned on the west side of Dawson Street from Sanilac Ave. to Argyle Street, including passing by the front of county-owned buildings.
The Sanilac County Board of Commission recently gave approval of having new sidewalks installed in front of their buildings, during the larger construction project.
The County’s portion of the work will be just over $18,000 dollars and will include the Communications/DTF Training Center and the Health Department building.
The project is expected to help get foot traffic off of Dawson according to law enforcement, providing further safety while walking as well as a safe place for pedestrians to walk when going to the Fair in August or for those who need to get to the Sanilac County Health Department building.
