A 38-year old Bad Axe man was arrested last week in Huron County for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident following a hit and run collision in Bad Axe. Huron County sheriff deputies and Bad Axe police responded to the scene after a citizen reported a black SUV had hit another vehicle and fled the scene. The citizen followed the SUV after it left the scene, wandering through several streets in Bad Axe. Police finally caught up with the vehicle on Fair Street and arrested 38-year old Corey Emard, who officers said was highly intoxicated. Emard was taken to McLaren Thumb Region for treatment and later lodged in the Huron County Jail. No other injuries were reported in the incident.
