Tuscola County Sheriff Glen Skrent urges parentsto continually check on their children to make sure they are not making bad decisions.
Recently, a man traveled from California to be with a girl in Tuscola County.
The US Marshalls and MSP tracked Michael Khatoonian down and he is now in the Tuscola County Jail awaiting extradition back to California.
The Sheriff said the man left in the middle of his trial in Sacramento and fled to Tuscola County to be with a girl.
Skrent said the man was convicted of the California charge of sexually assaulting a child.
