(TUSCOLA COUNTY) -Mayville residents and local leaders are demanding action after they say a light near the high school has been out for months.
Police say the lack of lighting creates safety hazards for before and after-school activities.
Residents have said DTE was called multiple times to fix the problem, but the issue persists. Residents say the street light at the intersection of Fulton and Wildcat Drive is not working.
The Mayville police department agree with residents’the concerns, calling the situation a significant problem.
DTE officials have said the light has been repaired a number of times and were under the impression it was working until being contacted that it had failed again.
DTE officials say given the repeated outages at the location, the entire fixture will be replaced weather permitting.
In the meantime, repair crews made another trip to temporarily fix the light at the intersection.
