(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) – One person was hospitalized in a two vehicle crash in Port Huron Township Wednesday night.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff Department, deputies were called to the intersections of Business Loop I-69 and 32nd Street about 10:30 p.m.
Investigators say a Dodge Dakota pickup and a Pontiac Torrent had been involved in the crash.
The driver of the pickup, a 38 year old Casco Township man, told deputies that he was southbound on 32nd Street. He told deputies the driver of the Torrent was eastbound, ran the red light, causing the crash.
The driver of the Torrent, a 23 year old man from Camlachie, Ontario, told deputies that he was eastbound on BL I-69 and the pickup ran the red light, causing the crash.
The driver of the pickup was transported by Tri-Hospital EMS to McLaren Port Huron Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Torrent and three passengers, all from Ontario, refused treatment at the scene.
Port Huron Township Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene of the crash, which remains under investigation.
