PRESS RELEASE FROM CARO MSP POST
Last evening, around 11:24 p.m., Troopers were patrolling in the City of Marlette and attempted to stop a white colored Chrysler 300 which had an improper plate.
When Troopers activated their emergency lights the Chrysler accelerated and did not pull over. Per policy Troopers did not pursue the vehicle.
A Marlette City Officer was in the area and immediately initiated a pursuit travelling north on M-53. The chase continued into Tuscola County and Troopers attempted spike strips in the area of Severance Rd and Dodge Rd.
The spike strips were not successful in deflating the suspects tires. The suspect continued to drive at high speeds, down backroads, and the Marlette Officer eventually ended the pursuit.
Just after 5:00 a.m. Tuscola County Sheriff Deputies were sent to the 2800 block of N. Hurds Corner Rd for a suspicious situation. Deputies arrived in the area and stopped a vehicle at Hurds Corner Rd. and Dodge Rd.
Deputies later located the white Chrysler 300 and another vehicle which were stuck in the yard of a residence.
The three occupants of the vehicle were questioned and evidence was seized.
The investigation is continuing and no arrests have been made. If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Caro Post at (989) 673-2156.
