Sanilac County to test warning sirens


 
 
 

Sanilac County will be testing their tornado warning sirens at 5 pm Monday afternoon.

Sanilac County Emergency Management Director Todd Hillman said the County chose to test their system a week later that the statewide test.

Hillman said area fire departments will activate their sirens at 5 pm and then signal the all clear 10 minutes later.

The test is done every year to assure the County’s preparedness in the event of an actual tornado.

While most counties conducted the test last week, there were a number of counties that chose to either postpone or delay the testing as to not alarm unknowing residents during this time of the coronavirus pandemic.
