(SANILAC COUNTY) – Communities throughout the region continue to do their part in helping support local personnel who are on the front lines caring for those effected by the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Food banks sponsored by various groups and organizations throughout the Thumb have popped up, serving more families than normal.
Meanwhile, are school districts have gone above and beyond in making sure their students are receiving adequate nutrition with meals provided, despite the fact that face-to-face school instruction has been cancelled for the rest of the school year.
Likewise, countless volunteers have put their skills to work, creating a variety of badly needed PPE equipment such as face masks and gowns to donate to local healthcare providers.
Just a few more examples of how Thumb residents never shy away from a challenge, no matter how big or small.
