Surrounding counties typically plan tire collection days in the spring, and some hold a second event in the fall.
However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, events are being cancelled while others are left in limbo as they wait out the virus that is sweeping across the nation.
Sanilac County officials had originally said they would not be conducting their two tire events, one in the spring and another in the fall.
However, they have since updated the situation to say a grant to cover the costs is still available and they intend to move forward, if allowed under State virus guidelines.
Meanwhile, in Tuscola County, tire collection dates have been cancelled in Wells and Dayton Townships and in the Village of Cass City.
Scheduled events in Vassar and Millington are still being planned for this spring.
Fall collection events in Tuscola County are also still being planned at this time.
