(THUMB REGION) – Thousands of people look forward every year to a multitude of events in the summer, including the county fair.
Fair exhibitors and visitors alike are disheartened this year as the coronavirus continues to destroy all those hopes and dreams as various fair boards cancel the fairs for this year.
On Monday, officials with the Huron County Fair in Bad Axe called off their event for this year.
Officials from the Tuscola County Fair made a similar announcement Tuesday morning.
Several fairs throughout the state have taken the same action, leaving the fair gates shut but there is still some glimmer of hope locally.
Officials from the Sanilac and St. Clair county fairs, scheduled for later this year, are still holding out hope they can have their events.
Sanilac fair board members have said at this point, planning continues to have the event, barring any further State government action.
St. Clair County officials say they expect to make a final determination early next month.
