COVID-19 cases in the five-county region of Sanilac, St. Clair, Huron, Tuscola and Lapeer have shown signs of leveling off and slowing in the rate of increases as of late last week.
As of Monday, Sanilac County, officials report 38 cases, including five deaths. Drive-thru testing got underway last week in Sanilac County and officials say it would not be a surprise to see numbers rise, based on additional testing.
In St. Clair County there are 413 cases including 26 deaths while Lapeer County is reporting 177 cases and 30 deaths.
Tuscola County saw an increase of five cases and is now at 139 with 17 deaths while Huron County has reported 36 cases and one death.
Statewide, there have been over 47,000 cases of the virus and more than 4,500 deaths. Approximately 36,000 cases are in the greater Detroit Metro area, including Genesee County.
