Brown City officials say they have received 70 absentee ballot application requests for the August election and will begin sending the ballots out as soon as they are received.
The ballots for the August Primary are scheduled for pick-up Thursday evening at the Sandusky Court House.
Election officials say the State is currently sourcing PPE items for the August Primary Election with items including masks, face shields and hand sanitizer available for Election Day.
Election staff has been told the State Election Bureau is evaluating the possibility of reimbursing additional local PPE purchases but the current plan is for distribution rather than reimbursement.
Some of the safety equipment that will be available election day for voters and election workers are Plexi-glass dividers, infrared thermometers, hand washing stations and Lysol wipes.
Absentee voters will have until the close of polls at 8 p.m. on election day to submit their ballots for tabulating.
