(PORT SANILAC) – Rescue personnel from multiple agencies have responded to the DNR boat launch area for a report of a sinking boat Thursday afternoon.
Sanilac County Sheriff Department Patrol Boat deputies rescued two people off the sinking boat, east of the harbor beyond the breakwall.
One person was reported to be unresponsive while the other was reported to be semi-responsive.
Two Sanilac EMS units responded to the scene, along with Port Sanilac Fire & Rescue and the Sanilac County Sheriff Department.
Croswell EMS was also called to assist with transport of one patient while Sandusky fire department responded to McKenzie Hospital to prepare for an arriving helicopter.
