(YALE) -It’s been a long five months for residents of Medilodge of Yale and family members who have been unable to visit them, due to State regulations imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
That all changed for Wednesday evening for a short time thanks to some creative thinking by staff at the nursing home.
A car parade was organized on short notice and staff were expecting to have 12 cars take part, parading in front of residents who had been wheeled outside to enjoy the show.
What they actually experienced left everyone amazed and thrilled, to have an opportunity to see family members and smiling faces as more then 25 cars, trucks, motorcycles, dune buggies, a golf cart and a tractor showed up for the event after hearing of the plans through social media.
The procession had several decorated vehicles, horns blaring, screams of happiness and plenty of waves as the group made two laps around the facility.
The event left plenty of smiles on the faces of participants and those watching.
