50% increase in Sanilac County COVID cases

Sanilac County officials are reporting a 50% increase in CVOVID cases in the past 22 days.
Sanilac County Emergency Management Director Todd Hillman said since June 29th, there have been an additional 26 cases.
The information came during a zoom call with local media and county officials Monday morning.
In all, 68 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been discovered with another five probable cases that are still being investigated.
Of the 68 cases, 21 are considered still active with one out-of-county hospitalization.
Health Department officials say of the new cases, many are in the age group of 20 and 30 year olds with five of the positives being associated with the outbreak in East Lansing at Harper’s Bar.
The death total for Sanilac County remains at five, with a sixth death still being analyzed if it was a COVID-death or not.
Sanilac County Health Department officials continue to conduct drive through testing on Tuesdays and Thursdays and report more than 800 people have been tested.
