(SANILAC COUNTY) – Two out-of-county people sustained serious injuries in a one vehicle accident in Sanilac County’s Flynn Township late Sunday afternoon.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, a 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat operated by a 30-year-old female from Hale, MI was traveling northbound on Maple Valley Road, near Stiles Road around 6 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the east ditch.
The vehicle jumped an embankment and rolled several times before coming to rest in a farm field field.
The 30-year-old female and a 9-year-old female, also from Hale, were transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries by Marlette EMS.
The 9-year-old female was laterr transferred to Children’s Detroit Medical Center while the 30-year-old female was transferred by Flight Care medical helicopter to Flint Hurley Hospital.
Investigators say speed appears to be a factor in the crash and the names are being withheld, pending further investigation. Deputies were assisted by the Brown City Fire Department and Flight Care.
