COVID UPDATE -Wednesday 12-8 10:00 a.m.
Health officials across the Thumb region continue to monitor the rampant spread of COVID-19.
In a three-county region of Sanilac, Tuscola and Huron counties, there have been over 3,900 cases since the start of the virus.
Sanilac County, health officials are now reporting 1,102 cases and 26 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
In the past 60 days, Sanilac County reports a spike of over 850 cases, 600 of those coming just in the past month.
Huron County is reporting 942 cases and 19 deaths while Tuscola County has 1,858 cases, and 66 deaths since the start of the virus.
Lapeer County now has 2,781 cases, and 63 deaths and St. Clair County officials have reported almost 5,000 cases and 104 deaths.
Statewide, officials are reporting over 410,000 cases since the virus started and more than 10,000 deaths.
