(WORTH TOWNSHIP) – A Lexington woman was killed in a one vehicle accident Thursday morning in Sanilac County’s Worth Township.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, around 8:00 A.M., Sanilac Central Dispatch received a call regarding a vehicle that was located overturned in a creek on Sheridan Line Road, near Wixson Road in Worth Township.
Deputies investigating the scene determined a 2007 Kia Spectra 5 had been traveling east on Sheridan Line Road and appeared to have lost control.
Deputies say the vehicle entered the ditch on the south side of the road and overturned, landing in a creek upside down.
The driver, a 40-year-old female from Lexington, passed away as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and the driver’s name is being withheld pending notifications. The Sanilac County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted deputies at the scene.
