Two-alarm house fire in Elk Township
(SANILAC COUNTY) – Elk Township and Sandusky fire department responded to the scene of a two-alarm structure fire in Elk Township just before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The fire, reported to be in the attic of a multi-level home on Orchard Road, between Stilson and Aitken Roads east of M-19, was brought under control in a short time, due to a quick response by firefighters.
Heavy smoke was first reported coming from the home and later, those first on scene from Elk Township reported a working structure fire and requested mutual aid from Sandusky.
Several fire trucks from both departments responded to the scene and lined Orchard Road, just off Stilson.
No injuries were reported and cause of the fire remains under investigation.
