Deputies investigate rollover
(SANILAC COUNTY) – A 25-year old Applegate man sustained injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident in Sanilac County Sunday morning.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, Central Dispatch received a report of an accident on Lakeshore Road in Lexington Township around 11:30 a.m.
Deputies say a single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on S. Lakeshore Road near Sunset Drive in Lexington Township when a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by the Applegate man was traveling northbound on S. Lakeshore Rd.
The driver told deputies the vehicle in front of him suddenly hit their brakes, causing him to hit his brakes.
The Applegate man lost control of his Jeep, going into the ditch on the west side of M-25 where his vehicle overturned and struck a tree before coming to rest.
The driver reported he was wearing his seatbelt, airbags did deploy and investigators say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The 25-year-old driver was treated for injuries by Croswell EMS.
