(SANILAC COUNTY) – The Sanilac County Board of Commission has a full agenda for their upcoming meeting next Tuesday, including consideration of purchasae of vehicles and whether or not to continue the County’s State of Emergency due to the COVID pandemic.
At their meeting Tuesday, Commissioners will be voting on the purchase of four SUV patrol units for the Sheriff Department.
The vehicles are expected to cost around $37,000 dollars each for a total expenditure of around $148,000 plus emergency equipment, with funding coming from the sheriff department’s vehicle fund.
The Board will also consider buying two John Deere Gators for use at the County’s parks.
Tri-County Equipment of Sandusky bid $11,500 dollars per unit with funding coming from the Parks and Recreation millage.
In other Board news, members will hear a request to continue the State of Emergency for Sanilac County due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
The County’s Emergency Operation Center has been open for over one year, with various officials meeting virtually three times a week to develop plans to best protect the county’s citizens’ health and wellbeing.
