(SANILAC COUNTY) – The new Croswell Police Chief is stepping away from one agency, only to go to another during his retirement.
Ron Buckmaster, who currently serves as Marysville’s deputy chief of public safety, was appointed to the Croswell position by the the city council during their meeting Monday night.
Buckmaster, who will have an annual salary of $68,000, will have his last day with Marysville April 30th and then start his new duties May 3rd.
He steps in for retired Chief Dave Hall who stepped down after serving for 17 years in Croswell.
Since Hall’s retirement former Lt. Randy Willis and current Lt. Brenda Krumenacker ran the department. Willis retired at the end of March.
Buckmaster started his career with law enforcement as a 911 dispatcher for the Port Huron Police Department from 1987 to 1989.
Later, he worked in the St. Clair County Sheriff Department as a corrections officer and then transferred to road patrol before going to Marysville.
