Hydrant Flushing will take place in two Sanilac County communities in the coming days.
In Sandusky, on Friday, May 14th DPW employees will be out flushing hydrants for all dead end streets between 7am and 3:30pm.
Sandusky officials say during the flushing, you may temporary experience discoloration in the water. While the water is safe to consume, residents may want to run the faucets until the discoloration disappears, especially before drinking.
DPW officials ask residents to delay doing laundry while the discoloration is present.
Meanwhile, in Brown City, DPW employees plan to flush city fire hydrants starting today, May 10th through the end of the week as part of the city’s semi-annual program.
Hydrant flushing will usually take place during the day and residents may notice some discoloration in the water during this process.
Residents are advised not to wash white or light colored clothes during this period.
