(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) – A Port Huron woman was arrested Wednesday following a stabbing in Port Huron earlier the same day.
The 34-year-old woman was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Riverview Street and lodged at the St. Clair County jail on charges of attempted murder.
Police say the arrest came about 12 hours after officers responded to Lake Huron Medical Center for a 36-year-old Clyde Township man who had a stab wound to the chest.
The man said he was jumped about an hour and a half before coming to the hospital, and he was unsure who stabbed him.
Police estimate the stabbing happened sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:13 a.m.
The stabbing occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Riverview Street, according to police.
The victim was reported to be in stable condition and is expected to recover.
Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other.
