(SANILAC COUNTY) -A Caro woman was taken to a local hospital following a rollover accident in Marlette Township late Tuesday morning.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, emergency crews responded to the call around 11:30 a.m. on M-53, near Frenchline Road.
Investigators say a 2003 Toyota Camry driven by a 29-year-old woman was traveling north on S. Van Dyke Road when she reached for something in her purse, causing her to swerve towards a ditch.
Deputies say the woman over corrected, causing the Toyota to overturn and come to rest on all four tires on the east side of S. Van Dyke Rd.
Alcohol was not a factor in the collision and airbags did not deploy. Deputies say the woman, the only occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing her seatbelt.
She was treated on scene by Marlette EMS and was then transported to Marlette Regional Hospital for further treatment.
