(HURON COUNTY) – Police from three agencies were involved in a chase early Wednesday morning that resulted in an Ubly man being arrested and charged with multiple violations.
Sheriff Kelly Hanson said around 4 a.m. Huron County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to a home in Ubly where the mother of a 21-year old Ubly man reported she and her son had been in a physical altercation.
Upon arrival of a deputy, the suspect fled the scene and initiated a high speed chase in excess of 100 mph. After attempting to stop the vehicle without success, a deputy called off the chase for safety reasons.
Sheriff Hanson said deputies from the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office observed the suspect vehicle in the Cass City area and attempted a second stop which led to the chase continuing.
The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped in the Caro area after back up units deployed Stop Sticks.
The suspect was turned over to Huron County deputies and transported to jail, facing felony and misdemeanor charges, including domestic violence, fleeing and eluding and driving on a suspended license.
He remains jailed on a $10,000 cash bond.
