(SANILAC COUNTY) – A North Branch man passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a one vehicle rollover accident over the weekend.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, deputies reported to the scene of the reported crash on Gates, near Forester in Sanilac County’s Custer Township around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies say the a 40-year-old man was traveling south on Gates Rd. when he lost control of a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe.
The vehicle entered the ditch on the west side of the road and flipped multiple times before coming to a rest.
Deputies say the driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Airbags did deploy and the driver was not wearing his seat belt, according to investigation.
Sandusky police and fire departments assisted deputies at the scene.
