Thunderstorms that erupted Tuesday afternoon led to a rescue effort off the shore of Lake Huron in St. Clair County. Burtchville Township fire authorities say firefighters and sheriff deputies rescued three teens more than two miles off shore in Lake Huron. The teens, 18, 15, and 13, were on a personal watercraft that was towing an inflatable raft when it got tangled and disabled the watercraft. A thunderstorm then pushed them out into the lake. Authorities with the fire department say the teens had life preservers on and a working cell phone to call 911 shortly after 3 p.m. Burtchville Township firefighters and a sheriff patrol boat responded. Emergency crews were able to get the teens on the patrol boat and back to shore.
