Sanilac County Sheriff Department Deputy Chad Schmidt is a man you want if you have an emergency situation.
On Friday of last week, Sheriff Paul Rich awarded a Commendation for Life Saving to Deputy Schmidt of the Uniform Services Division.
This is the third lifesaving commendation that has been issued to Deputy Schmidt in less than 90-days.
On Sunday, June 27, just before 10 p.m. Deputy Schmidt responded to a medical in the 1200 block of Fetting Road in Watertown Township.
The original call indicated a 57-year-old female was not breathing.
Upon Deputy Schmidt’s arrival he assessed the patient and used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to shock the patient which caused her to regain a pulse.
The Sheriff’s Office is extremely proud of Deputy Schmidt’s quick response, assessment and lifesaving efforts.
