St. Clair County communities to receive tax share

The St. Clair County Parks and Recreation department has allocated their millage to county agencies, including several in the western portion of the county.
As part of the taxpayer collected funds, the County shares 25% of the funding with cities and villages.
This year, the department will collect in excess of $3.1 million dollars from the millage, sending nearly $795,000 dollars to communities.
In order to receive the funding, recipients must present a plan to use the money for parks and recreation improvements.
The City of Yale will receive just over $9,500 dollars while the Village of Capac stands to receive $9,200 dollars.
In past years, Yale City Manager John Osborn said the City has used their funding for park equipment improvements including picnic tables, fencing and tree replacement.
Kenockee Township will take in more than $12,000 dollars, another $9,800 is slated for Brockway Township and Emmett Township will receive $11,000 dollars.
