(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – Construction of a new medical plaza in Caro is able to move forward, following a lengthy delay due to permit issues.
After months of delays with the permit process and getting necessary documents, builders have found a way to obtain the paperwork, clearing the way for the new 42,000 square foot medical facility.
Owners of the project say they already have signed contracts with lease holders including the main tenant, McLaren, who has signed on for 20,000 square feet of space.
Owners have called the facility a one-stop shop that will offer a variety of services, but is not a hospital. Among the services planned at the new facility will be physical therapy and pharmacy.
The project is reported to be around one million dollars over budget, but builders are confident of a completion date of this fall.
Another similar project is planned for the Bad Axe area, only larger, with the facility covering 55,000 square feet.
