(SANILAC COUNTY) – A flag football league is being organized for play this fall, giving those who may not be playing high school football an opportunity for some recreational fun.
Under the Lights is the exclusive youth flag football partner of Under Armour, Inc. Under the Lights is also the exclusive flag football program for both boys and girls of all skill levels and promotes a competitive, confidence building, non-contact football experience.
The league will feature an eight game season plus play-offs and will have a six -on-six format for teams.
Among the league rules will be no pass rush and a team roster of just 9 to 10 players so everyone will see plenty of playing time.
All coaches are to be volunteer parents and not provided by Under the Lights organizers.
Trophies or Medals will be awarded to the Champions of each grade/age division. There are eight communities hosting Under the Lights.
Along with Sanilac County, teams will compete in Bad Axe, Midland, Swartz Creek and other locations.
The season will run six weeks, beginning September 19th and will include play-offs at the end of October.
All home games for the Sanilac County teams will be played at Wilson Park in Deckerville.
