A Tuscola County man is recovering from injuries sustained in an accident involving a machete. Just before 6 p.m. Monday, Michigan State Police Troopers responded to an address on Colwood Rd in Tuscola County’s Almer Township for a medical emergency.
The medical call was for a 45-year old male who had apparently injured himself with a machete.
Troopers found the male victim unconscious, with major blood loss, and a severe right foot injury.
Investigators say Troopers applied a tourniquet to the right knee which caused the bleeding to stop.
The victim was able to regain consciousness and advised he was cutting brush, with the machete, and accidently struck his foot.
The man, from Cass City, was rushed to a Saginaw area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
