Sanilac County fire department volunteers work overtime

Sanilac County fire departments were busy Thursday, responding to multiple fires and vehicle crashes.
A seven-alarm structure fire in Marlette Township brought Marlette, Moore Township, Lamotte Township, Argyle Township and Brown City fire departments to the scene along with Kingston and Burlington Township.
Later in the afternoon, Croswell and Lexington fire departments responded to a personal injury accident on South Lakeshore while a few minutes later, Applegate fire department responded to a reported combine and wheat field fire just north of the Village of Applegate on Old 51.
Smoke from the fire could be seen as far away as Snover and further northwest of the scene.
Then, just before midnight Thursday, the Argyle Township fire department was called again, this time for a personal injury accident in Evergreen Township.
A great deal of appreciation was expressed to all of the volunteer firefighters for leaving their homes or jobs at a moments notice to help handle the various emergencies throughout the county.
If you see a volunteer emergency worker, be sure to take time to thank them for their dedication and willingness to serve their communities.
