(HURON COUNTY) – A two-vehicle crash in Huron County’s Sand Beach Township Monday afternoon sent two people to hospitals for treatment of injuries.
According to Michigan State Police, Troopers were dispatched to an injury crash on Sand Beach Rd (M-142) near Learman Rd.
Troopers say a A 76 year-old Harbor Beach female was travelling east in a 2005 Buick Rendezvous.
The driver drove onto the south shoulder, overcorrected, lost control, and entered the westbound lane.
A 2005 Chevy Trailblazer traveling west and driven by a 48 year-old Decker man was unable to avoid the eastbound vehicle as they collided with both drivers sustaining injuries.
The female was flown by a Lifenet helicopter to an out of area hospital for treatment while the male was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted by the Harbor Beach Police and Fire Department’s, East Huron Ambulance, and Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
