police-lights-2-2

Snow-covered roads are partially being blamed for an accident that sent two women to the hospital for treatment of injuries. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, around 11 a.m. Wednesday emergency personnel responded to the area of South Sandusky Road (M-19) and Griffin Road in Elk Township, north of Peck, for a one-vehicle accident. Investigators say an 18-year-old Croswell woman was driving south on M-19 when she lost control of her vehicle. Deputies say due to snowy roads, the vehicle went into a ditch on the east side of the highway, injuring the driver and a 21-year old Peck woman. Both females were transported to McKenzie Health System by Sanilac EMS for treatment of injuries. Deputies were assisted by the Elk Township fire department.
