Numbers decline with Sanilac County COVID cases

The Sanilac County Health Department continues to report a decline in numbers of reported positive cases of CVOID.
After a 24-month high of more than 400 cases in mid-January, numbers have been steadily declining.
During the time frame of January 31st to February 6th, Health Department officials report two new deaths, leaving Sanilac County with 163 deaths due to COVID since the start of the virus.
The largest number reported by age groups were in those 41 to 50 years old. Those 23 to 40 had 36 cases (18 each) while 51 to 60 year olds also had 18 cases. 71 to 80 year olds had 14 new cases while school aged children 1 to 18 years of age had just 12 new cases countywide.
By community, Sandusky continues to lead the county with 38 new cases while Croswell and Marlette reported 17 apiece. Lexington had 14 cases while Carsonville had 10 new cases.
There have been over 7,000 positive cases of COVID reported in Sanilac County since the start of the pandemic, excluding home test results.
