(Port Huron Township) The 2021 St. Clair County Drug Task Force drug crime map is now available. The map is designed to allow citizens of St. Clair County to see where illicit drug activity took place throughout the year.
When viewing the map, you can see DTF cases from across the county. You are also able to zoom in to street level, to see drug activity in your neighborhood. By clicking on the markers on the map, you will see information as to what type of drug or drugs were seized, if any weapons were confiscated and the age and residency of those arrested.
“Even as the Covid-19 pandemic continued throughout last year, the Drug Task Force continued to bring drug dealers to justice,” said Sheriff Mat King. “Getting drugs and weapons off the streets of our community helps to make St. Clair County a great place to visit, live and raise a family.”
Sheriff King went on to say that citizens can assist at getting drugs off the streets. Anyone who sees what they believe to be illegal narcotic activity is encouraged to contact the Drug Task Force at (800) 243-DRUG. Callers may remain anonymous while providing tips regarding drug transactions.
In 2021, the Drug Task Force seized a record 4316 grams of methamphetamine/crystal meth, 461 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine and 211 grams of heroin.
The DTF also executed 81 search warrants and 350 drug related traffic stops. This interdiction activity led to 270 arrests, resulting in 351 felony charges and 142 misdemeanor charges.
The drug crime map is available on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page at Facebook.com/stclaircountysheriff.org.
