The Deckerville school board met Monday evening, taking care of business and approving a few new hires.
The board gave their approval of paying General Fund bills in the amount of $91,000 along with Athletic Fund bills in the amount of nearly $1,400.
Another nearly $7,000 in payments was approved, including payments for Student/School activities, Food Service and Capital Projects.
In other action, the Board of Education approved the revised budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year as presented by Marsha Taylor, Business Manager.
Revenues totaled just under $7.3 million dollars while expenditures totaled $7 million, with $199,985 being added to the fund balance, resulting in an estimated General Fund balance of nearly $2.5 million as of June 30, 2022.
The Board also approved naming Doug Regentin as the “Friend of Youth” and gave their ok to hire Johnny Kirkpatrick for the Facility-Wide Maintenance Supervisor and Andrew Whittaker as the Varsity Baseball Coach.
