Once Spring weather sets in, grounds improvements are being planned in the area of the Sanilac County Courthouse. Buildings and Grounds Supervisor Nick Lusher sought approval from the Board of Commission to seek bids on various repairs to parking lots at the Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office, Dawson Street buildings and the Michigan State Police Post. After evaluating all bids, Lusher recommended to the Board to accept the bids of Astec Asphalt near Brown City. Commissioners will take final action on the bids at their next meeting, but gave preliminary approval for around $54,000 dollars worth of Crack Sealant and Seal Coating work, another $10,000 dollars in landscaping and over $43,000 dollars for concrete repairs. Total cost of the work will be just over $107,000 dollars with funding coming from the Buildings and Grounds budget.
