(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) –  An investigation into the sales of narcotics in the Capac area ended Wednesday with an arrest and narcotics confiscation in St. Clair County.
According to Sheriff Mat King, members of the Drug Task Force pursued the investigation, which led to the surveillance of a suspect driving a vehicle in the Capac area.
Eventually, a traffic stop was executed in the area of Bryce and Connors Road in Emmett Township at about 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The suspect, a 33-year old man from Marysville and lone occupant of the vehicle, allegedly attempted to destroy a quantity of crystal methamphetamine at the location of the traffic stop.
DTF officers conducted a search of the vehicle and seized approximately $1600 worth of crystal methamphetamine, according to Sheriff King.
Also confiscated during the search were digital scales, drug paraphernalia, ammunition and firearms magazines.
The suspect was arrested and lodged at the St. Clair County jail and is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and destruction of evidence.
The U.S. Border Patrol K-9 Division assisted the Sheriff Department at the scene of the traffic stop.
