According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, emergency responders were called to the area of Rangeline and Forester Roads in Bridgehampton Township just before 6 a.m.
Deputies along with the Deckerville Fire Department and Sanilac EMS responded and found that a 23-year-old Melvin woman had been traveling south on Rangeline Rd when she lost control of her vehicle.
The vehicle entered the east ditch of Rangeline Road, causing it to strike a tree. Investigators say the driver was trapped inside of the wreckage and was freed by the Deckerville Fire Department’s Jaws of Life and Sanilac EMS.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Deckerville Hospital for treatment of her injuries and later transferred by Life Net helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.
Deputies say a 24-year-old Carsonville man who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also injured in the crash and was transported to McKenzie Health System for treatment of injuries.
