A structure fire in Paris township this past Saturday required five fire departments and about five hours to get the “blaze knocked out and under control,” according to Scott Messing, the Sherman Township Fire Chief.
The structure, located in the 5200 Block of East Atwater Road, is a total loss, with all of the upstairs engulfed in the fire after it started on the back porch. Sherman Township Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze around 5:41 p.m., but it took them and their reinforcements– the Bad Axe Fire, Bingham Township Fire, Harbor Fire, and Sigel Township Fire departments– until 10:55 p.m. to clear the scene.
The fire is still under investigation.
